Macbook Pro 13 Unibody (2009 - 2012) Battery Replacement
Introduction
This guide is for a battery replacement for the MacBook Pro 13 (2009 - 2012).
Tools Required
• Phillips #00 Screwdriver
• Tri-Point Y0 Screwdriver
• Spudger

Precautions
• Work on a clear and open surface • Careful when unscrewing as the some of the screws are small • Take note of the screw driver to be used
Step 1
Unscrew MacBook
Remove the 10 screws as shown in the image. - 7 x 3mm Phillips screw (Yellow Circle) - 3 x 13.5mm Phillips screw (Red Circle)
Step 2
Open Back Case
Slightly lift up lower the case and push it towards the rear of the laptop to free the mounting tabs
Step 3
Remove the following screws securing the battery of the laptop - 1 x 5.5mm tri-point screw (Red Circle) - 1 x 13.5mm tri-point screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 4
Using the flat end of the spudger, lift the battery connector up out of its socket on the logic board
Step 5
Lift the battery out Replace with the new battery
Step 6
Secure back the battery connector
Step 7
Screw back the battery in place - 1 x 5.5mm tri-point screw (Red Circle) - 1 x 13.5mm tri-point screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 8
Place the lower case back onto the laptop

Screw back the 10 screws to secure the back case - 7 x 3mm Phillips screw (Yellow Circle) - 3 x 13.5mm Phillips screw (Red Circle)

Battery drain to calibrate battery
1. Charge your Macbook to 100% 2. Unplug your Macbook and use it normally to drain the battery. 3. Save your work when you see the low battery warning. 4. Keep your Macbook on until it goes to sleep due to a low battery. 5. Charge your laptop uninterrupted to 100%.

How do I reset my Macbook's SMC?
1. Shut down your Mac. 2. On your built-in keyboard, press and hold all of the following keys. Your Mac might turn on. - Control (⌃) on the left side of your keyboard - Option (⌥) on the left side of your keyboard - Shift (⇧) on the left side of your keyboard 3. Keep holding all three keys for 7 seconds, then press and hold the power button as well. If your Mac is on, it will turn off as you hold the keys. 4. Keep holding all four keys for another 7 seconds, then release them. 5. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.
