Macbook Pro 13 Retina (Early 2015) Speaker Replacement

This guide is for a speaker replacement for the MacBook Pro 13 (Early 2015).
Tools Required
• P5 Pentalobe Screwdriver
• T5 Torx Screwdriver
• Spudger

Precautions
-Please be careful with the screws, make sure you keep track of them
Step 1
Remove the following ten screws securing the lower case to the upper case: Two 2.3 mm P5 Pentalobe screws (Red Circle) Eight 3.0 mm P5 Pentalobe screws (Orange Circle)
Step 2
Wedge your fingers between the upper case and the lower case. Gently pull the lower case away from the upper case to remove it.
Step 3
Remove the plastic cover adhered to the battery contact board.
Step 4
Use the flat end of a spudger to lift the battery connector straight up out of its socket on the logic board.
Step 5
Right speaker replacement
If you are only replacing left speaker, please skip to step 17 Remove the two 2.1 mm T5 Torx screws securing the logic board end of the I/O board cable bracket.
Step 6
Remove the I/O board cable bracket.
Step 7
Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the I/O board connector straight up off its socket on the logic board.
Step 8
Lift the logic board end of the I/O board cable straight up to bend it out of the way.
Step 9
Carefully tuck the tip of a spudger under the right speaker cable near the connector and lift it up out of its socket on the logic board.
Step 10
Remove the following screws securing the right speaker to the upper case: One 5.7 mm T5 Torx screw (Red Circle) One 6.5 mm T5 Torx screw (Orange Circle) One 3.8 mm T5 Torx screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 11
Lift the right speaker from the cable end and pull it free from the case. Insert new right speaker
Step 12
Secure back the following screws securing the right speaker to the upper case: One 5.7 mm T5 Torx screw (Red Circle) One 6.5 mm T5 Torx screw (Orange Circle) One 3.8 mm T5 Torx screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 13
Insert back the right speaker cable connector to the logic board.
Step 14
Place back the I/O board connector to the logic board.
Step 15
Place back I/O board cable bracket.
Step 16
Secure the two 2.1 mm T5 Torx screws securing the logic board end of the I/O board cable bracket. If you are only replacing right speaker skip to step 22
Step 17
Insert the tip of a spudger under the left speaker cable near the connector and lift it up out of its socket on the logic board.
Step 18
Remove the following screws securing the left speaker to the upper case: One 5.7 mm T5 Torx screw (Red Circle) One 6.5 mm T5 Torx screw (Orange Circle) One 3.8 mm T5 Torx screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 19
Lift the corner of the left speaker up and slide it out around the battery to remove it from the upper case. Insert new speaker
Step 20
Insert back the following screws securing the left speaker to the upper case: One 5.7 mm T5 Torx screw (Red Circle) One 6.5 mm T5 Torx screw (Orange Circle) One 3.8 mm T5 Torx screw (Yellow Circle)
Step 21
Insert back the left speaker cable to the logic board
Step 22
Secure back the battery connector to the logic board.
Step 23
Place back the plastic cover
Step 24
Place back the lower case
Step 25
Secure back the following ten screws to secure the lower case to the upper case: Two 2.3 mm P5 Pentalobe screws (Red Circle) Eight 3.0 mm P5 Pentalobe screws (Orange Circle)
